Why dance
The room
An event space on Lincoln Highway in DeKalb that has hosted Yolanda Lozano's ecstatic dance every month for two years — dance, sound journey, then herbal tea and a share circle. Tickets are sold on the venue's own site.
Fargo Venue were the first people to hire Yolanda Lozano for an ecstatic dance, and the night has run consecutively there for about two years — one of the longest-running ecstatic containers in the far west suburbs.
The evening is a full arc rather than just a dance: an hour of free-form movement, a 30-minute sound journey, then herbal iced tea and a share circle to close.
DeKalb is about an hour west of Arlington Heights, so this is a road trip rather than a drop-in — worth it for a Friday night on this floor.
Closer to home?
DeKalb is about an hour west of us. If Friday is too far, our Sunday morning containers run in Arlington Heights and Palatine.
