Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website ecstaticdance.app and any tickets, Dance Passes, or other products you buy through it (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Ecstatic Dance Suburbia ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

These Terms cover the website. The in-person dance events are also governed by our Waiver & Community Guidelines and our Privacy Policy.

1. Who can use the Service

You must be at least 18 years old to buy tickets, register a Dance Pass, or sign the waiver. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.

2. Tickets, passes, and payments

• All prices are in US dollars. Payments are processed by Stripe.
• A ticket reserves a spot for one person at one specific Sunday at the venue listed on the ticket.
• A Dance Pass admits one person to any one Sunday of the 2026 season at participating venues. Each card is single-use.
• The Ultimate Dance Pass grants the named purchaser unlimited entry for 3 months from the date of purchase. It is non-transferable.
• The Dance Bundle (10 Dance Passes for $100) launched May 31, 2026 and is no longer for sale. Outstanding bundles are still honored — cards are non-refundable and were handed over in person at Mainwood.
• Tickets and passes are not redeemable for cash.

3. Refunds, cancellations & transfers

• Individual Sunday tickets: non-refundable, but flexible — your ticket is good for any Sunday for 90 days from the date you selected. If you can't make the day you picked, just come to a later one. You may also transfer your spot to someone else by emailing us with the new attendee's name and email.
• Dance Pass cards (physical): single-use, non-refundable, transferable — whoever holds the card uses it.
• Ultimate Dance Pass and Dance Bundle: non-refundable once purchased.
• If we cancel a dance (weather, venue, organizer emergency), your ticket rolls over to the next Sunday automatically — or any Sunday within 90 days of your original date.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for anything illegal or to harass anyone.
• Resell tickets or passes above face value.
• Submit false sightings, impersonate others, or upload content you don't have rights to.
• Probe, scrape, or attempt to break the Service or its security.

We may suspend or refuse service, and void tickets without refund, for behavior that violates these Terms or our community guidelines.

5. User-submitted content (sightings, etc.)

If you submit a photo, location, or any other content to us (for example through the Dance Pass sightings flow), you keep ownership of it. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to display, copy, and share it in connection with the Service. You confirm you have the right to submit it and that it doesn't violate anyone's privacy or copyright. We can remove any submission at any time for any reason.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, our logos, copy, and design are owned by Ecstatic Dance Suburbia and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy or reuse them without our written permission, with the exception of normal, fair sharing on social media to promote a dance.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

Physical risk of dancing is covered separately by the liability waiver you sign before attending.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ecstatic Dance Suburbia, its organizers, and volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, arising out of your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ecstatic Dance Suburbia and its organizers from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will change. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
