Be the face of freedom.

Love this community? Love movement, music and meeting new people? Join our local team and help bring more joy, connection and conscious dance to the suburbs we call home. Paid shifts and volunteer spots are both available.

You don't need to be a dancer — just someone who loves people and believes in the power of community.

What you'll do

Community connection

Engage with walkers, runners, families and neighbors in a warm, authentic way. Answer questions about ecstatic dance and upcoming events.

Promote & invite

Hand out flyers and cards, explain our events, and encourage people to scan the QR code or spin the wheel.

Create a welcoming vibe

Play music at an approved volume, offer free water and $2 lemonade, and create a space that feels inviting and fun.

Lead capture & reporting

Track conversations, QR scans and sign-ups. Share daily numbers, feedback and ideas to help us grow.

Research & compliance

Learn the rules for park outreach. Seek permission when needed, take smart informed action, and escalate anything uncertain.

Represent our values

Embody the mission: freedom, connection, inclusivity, respect and safety. Be the energy that makes people feel welcome and curious.

A day in the life

    Outreach on the way

Before setup, do grassroots outreach around the station and downtown: refresh flyers and cards, connect with people where permitted.

  3. 3

    Meet & setup

A local partner can pick you up and provide transport to Lake Arlington. Set up the table, drinks, speaker, signs, QR codes and the spin-the-wheel station.

  4. 4

    Activation at Lake Arlington

Welcome the community. Share info, hand out materials, offer free water and $2 lemonade, spin the wheel, and invite people to our dances.

  5. 5

    Wrap & report

Pack up, clean up, and share your numbers, notes and ideas for next time.

  6. 6

Community Ambassador Agreement

Version 2026-09-01

This agreement is between Ecstatic Dance Suburbia (“we”, “us”) and you, the Community Ambassador. It is short on purpose. Sign it once, and we'll confirm your specific days, hours and pay in writing before your first shift.

1. Your role

You represent Ecstatic Dance Suburbia and Full Moon Fusion at public outreach activations — parks, downtown areas, festivals and our dances. Your job is to welcome people, explain what ecstatic dance is, hand out materials, capture interest, and report what you learned.

You are not authorized to sign contracts, make financial commitments, negotiate with venues or speak to press on our behalf.

2. Independent contractor / volunteer

You serve as an independent contractor or as a volunteer, depending on the arrangement we confirm with you in writing. This is not employment, and this agreement does not create an employment relationship, partnership or exclusivity in either direction.

You control how you get to and from a shift and may decline any shift. You are responsible for your own taxes on any amounts we pay you.

3. Schedule, pay and expenses

Shifts are scheduled by mutual agreement. Before each shift we confirm the date, hours, location and — for paid shifts — the rate or flat stipend in writing (text or email counts).

Approved out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursed: Metra fare, ice, lemonade supplies, printing. Get approval before spending anything over $25 and keep your receipts.

Volunteer ambassadors receive free dance passes and perks in place of pay.

4. Money handling

Lemonade is $2 and water is free. All money collected belongs to Ecstatic Dance Suburbia and must be reported and handed over the same day, using the payment link or cash log we give you.

Never take payment for tickets in cash without logging it. If you are unsure, take the person's email and send them to ecstaticdance.app/tickets instead.

5. Rules, permits and safety

Follow all park district, municipal and property rules. Do not amplify music where it is prohibited, do not block paths, and stop and check with us if anyone in authority asks you to leave or to change what you're doing.

No alcohol, cannabis or other intoxicants before or during a shift. Our spaces are substance-free.

You are responsible for your own safety and comfort. If a situation feels unsafe, pack up and leave first, then tell us. We will always back that decision.

6. Conduct

Treat everyone with respect. No harassment, discrimination, unwanted touch, proselytizing, medical or therapeutic claims, or pressure tactics. Consent and personal space come first, always.

You may not use your role to promote another business, sell your own products or services, or collect contacts for anything other than Ecstatic Dance Suburbia.

7. Contacts and data

Names, emails, phone numbers and notes you collect belong to Ecstatic Dance Suburbia. Only collect them with the person's consent, hand them over promptly, and do not keep, copy, share or sell them.

8. Brand, photos and materials

We provide flyers, signage, the table kit and any branded gear on loan; please return it in good condition. Use our name, logo and flyers only as provided.

You give us permission to use photos and video taken at activations, which may include you, in our marketing. Tell us if you'd rather not appear and we'll respect that.

9. Liability

You participate at your own risk and agree to release Ecstatic Dance Suburbia, its organizers and partner venues from claims arising from your participation, except for their own gross negligence or willful misconduct. You agree to cover losses caused by your own reckless or intentional acts.

10. Ending it

Either of us may end this arrangement at any time, for any reason, with no hard feelings — just tell the other person. Any pay or reimbursement already earned still gets paid. Return our materials and hand over any contacts you collected.

11. The whole deal

This agreement plus the written shift confirmations is the whole arrangement between us. It is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. If any part of it is unenforceable, the rest stands.
