Himalayan Yoga and Meditation Center

Current home — Sunday mornings in Palatine

History

The Himalayan Yoga and Meditation Center has taught yoga, meditation and philosophy in Palatine since 1998, in the tradition of Swami Rama of the Himalayas.

Its studio is a quiet, held room with a wood floor — a space built for practice, now open on Sunday mornings for ecstatic dance.

Where to park, which door to use

109 W Slade St, Palatine — the corner building at N Brockway. Brockway is under construction right now, so here is exactly what it looks like.

  • Park in the lot beside the building, or the larger lot just past it. Street parking is limited during construction.
  • Walk to the opening on the right side of the building and take the staircase up to the second floor — that door is the studio.

Park in the small lot beside the building. The HYMC sign is in the second-story window; the entrance is the opening on the right.

Brockway is under construction — the lot beside the building and the stairway opening are still open and easy to reach.

If the spots next to the building are full, use the larger lot a bit further out — both are a short walk.
