Yes — right here. For years the closest regular ecstatic dance was a long drive into the city. Now there's a weekly home for it in the northwest suburbs.
Ecstatic dance is a sober, barefoot, free-form movement practice. A DJ holds a wave — warm-up, rise, peak, descent, stillness — and you move however your body wants to. No steps to learn, no partner needed, no talking on the floor. People come for the workout, the nervous-system reset, the community, the medicine of moving without watching yourself.
90 minutes of hand-picked music, shaped into a real arc — soft opening, rise, peak, descent, stillness.
No alcohol, no shoes, no phones on the floor. A clean container for whatever's alive.
Home before noon. A better way to start the week than scrolling.
Minutes from Mt. Prospect, Palatine, Buffalo Grove, Rolling Meadows, Schaumburg, Wheeling, Des Plaines, and Prospect Heights.
